The Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) ushered in a new era of leadership as Commodore Abimbola Ayuba (rtd), FNIM, fdc, was formally installed as the Institute’s 25th President and Chairman of Council. The colourful investiture ceremony took place at the 81 Division Officers Mess, Marina, Lagos.

A highlight of the event was the keynote address delivered by Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo (rtd), FNIM, the immediate past Chief of the Naval Staff, who emphasized the importance of integrating innovation and technology into management practices for national development.

The occasion drew dignitaries from across the public and private sectors, including members of the Institute, representatives of sister professional bodies, top military officials, and members of the press.

The event was chaired by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was ably represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Bimbo Salu-Hundeyin. Also in attendance was the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, FNIM, represented by his Technical Advisor, Prof. Bernard Babatunde, who served as the Special Guest of Honour.

She was supported by Mrs. Taiwo Ganiyat Olusesi, MNIM, FCIS, Registrar/Chief Executive, alongside several past Presidents of the Institute.

In his first official act as President, Commodore Ayuba unveiled the Institute’s new membership application, describing it as a “game changer” in the drive to improve service delivery and engagement among members. The app, he said, reflects his commitment to modernizing the Institute and enhancing operational efficiency during his tenure.

The ceremony also featured the swearing-in of Dr. Umar Mustapha, FNIM, as Deputy President and Mrs. Clara Ijeoma Okere, FNIM, as National Treasurer, rounding out a fresh executive team poised to take the Institute forward.
